Abstract:  
Synonyms:

  • Type Locality: Rio Iguassú, near Porto União, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
    Distribution: Upper Iguassú basin, Santa Catarina, S. Brazil.
    Biotope: Cynolebias carvalhoi was known only from a pond on relatively high ground immediately above the Rio Iguassú, about 1.6 Km east of Porto União. The pond was overgrown with reeds, it contained clear water and had a muddy substrate.
    Size: Males 3 - 4 cm
