    Distribution: Brazil: Estado do Amazonas, upper Rio Negro basin, Brazil
    Biotope: Reported to feed on microalgae and detritus in the Urubaxi swamp and on invertebrates and detritus in the island lake Buiú-Açu.
    Size: 1.2 - 1.8 cm (SL)
    Characteristics: Extremely large eyes like all members of this genus. Flat back, dorsal fin set well back behind the anal fin, mouth pointing upwards typical of surface dwelling fish.
