| Breeding: | Plesiolebias sp. "Xingu" are not aggressive or territorial. Males and females can be kept together. The males will show their fine finnage to each other but do no harm to each other. The males also extend their fins when pursuing the females but again they are not hard on the females. A pair will swim side by side close to the substrate with the male pushing himself into the female. The eggs are scattered over the surface of the substrate. They will lay eggs over peat in preference to the tank bottom. They will spawn everywhere so inevitable it is worth siphoning the bottom of the tank to collect eggs additional eggs. |
