| Type Locality: | Temporary pool on Isla Raton, Rio Churún, Upper Rio Orinoco, Amazonas State, S.E. Venezuela. |
| Distribution: | Only collected at Isla Raton, Upper Rio Orinoco, Amazonas State, Venezuela. |
| Biotope: | It is sympatric with Micromoema xiphophora and Terranatos dolichopterus at Isla Raton, Venezuela, when collected by Roger Brousseau in 1992. |

| Characteristics: | Tubular shaped body. Full grown adult males are very impressive looking characters readily coming to the surface to accept live food from your fingers. Males have a greenish-blue body with five to seven lateral red stripes that begin behind the dorsal fin, small pelvic fins, and long extensions of the central caudal rays. Females resemble typical large Rivulus and some may have the characteristic "Rivulus spot". |

| Breeding: | Maintain in good quality water at a temperature of 25 - 26 ºC and pH 6.5. Peat spawners. The eggs are small and amber in coloured. The fry are large at hatching and can readily take small live foods. This species is a fairly easy, relatively prolific fish. The long incubation time could prove troublesome and little is known about variations in incubation temperature and incubation times. |
