  • Breeding: I brought home a pair from the BKA 2003 convention and placed them in a critter keeper tank with 10cm of water and a large bottom mop. I fed them some flake. Rain water was pH7 and 21C. After 24 hours I collected 20 eggs from the mop.

They stop laying eggs periodically for one to two weeks. The eggs are often clustered together, 3 or 4 at a time. The eggs have a golden to orange colouration.

They produce from 5 - 15 eggs per day and will use floating and/or bottom mops.

The eggs can be water incubated. They will adhere to fronds of java moss if placed in the incubation container.
    Incubation: [20șC] 3 - 4 weeks
    [24șC] 2 - 3 weeks
    Egg Diameter: 1.5 mm
