Synonyms:

  • Type Locality: "Bosque Nacional Alexander von Humbolt", 8º 42 S, 75º 12 W, 86km from Pucallpa on the road to Tingo Maria, Peru.
    Distribution: Found in the surroundings of Jenaro Herrera as well as the type locality, Peri.
    Biotope:  
    Size: 7 cm
    Characteristics: A large, elongated body, boldly striped on a background of dark gray. Resembles Rivulus rubrolineatus but is larger, less in the body and less coloured. The lower part of the body is covered with little light spots. The males have continuous brown to dark gray lines on their flanks on a background of slightly iridescent yellow green. The anal fin is pale yellow-green, the dorsal fin golden brown edged with yellow. The upper edge of the caudal peduncle is the same yellow colour. The females are approximately the same colour of the males, but not as bold and more washed-out. The females have larger light patches in the dorsal region. It belongs to the urophthalmus group linked by means of its colouration and frontal scalation.
