    Distribution: Rio Paraguay, lower Parana, and Rio Uruguay Basins in Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. Found in the Rio Guapore Basin, Brazil (Costa, 1995). Known from near Porto Allegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (Huber 1992).
