    Distribution: Range from Central Mexico to Costa Rica Belize: Found in lowland areas across the length of Belize Districts: Belize, Orange Walk, Stann Creek, Toledo, Corozal Burdon Canal Nature Reserve Columbia River Forest Reserve Deep River Forest Reserve Swasey-Bladen Forest Reserve Costa Rica: Guatemala:
    Biotope: At Rio Teapa near Puyacatengo the river flows slowly but contains large whirlpools. Here Rivulus tenuis is found alongside Gambusia sexradiata and maculatus platy. The Rivulus hide in the vegetation at the water's edge whilst the Gambusia swim freely along the sides of the river.
