To join the SAA study group you have to email Maikel Meijer and tell him you want to join the SAA. You will also have to supply him with a list of all the South American Annuals you currently maintain. If you don't have any I'm sure we will fix you up soon. Maikel will supply you with an SAA number and sign you up to the SBT list (SellBuyTradeSAA) that will enable you to trade fish and eggs over the internet under the protection of our Code of Ethics. To join the cynolebias email list you have to go to [cynolebias] and follow the instructions. The cynolebias list is open to all. Full details of the mailing lists are here. | ||

The SAA Study Group is an international volunteer based organization aimed at the dissemination of information and free trade and conservation of SAA species in the hobby. The organization produces (near) monthly newsletters with news and information as well as a trading list where members can trade species. Membership is free and any one can join as long they participate by submitting a current fish list. The fish list is to aid us in understanding the state of the various species in the hobby. Species in danger of disappearing from the hobby (and nature) are actively maintained through Species Maintenance Programs run by our four Species Maintenance Coordinators and their dedicated staff of Species Curators. Through these programs species are exchanges and maintained both in numbers and genetic diversity to ensure strong strains. There is also collaboration with National killifish societies (see the links page ). Administration is by means of a twelve member Advisory Board composed of various people of various nationalities. The work is divided between these dedicated volunteers. We welcome anyone interested in joining the SAA and helping with its activities.
